Meet Our Board Members

Dr Connie Lawrence

Dr. Lawrence worked in the field of Human Resources for approximately 30 years including 20 years in the United States at CMA-CGM, a French shipping container line company, as HR Director; at the YMCA of South Palm Beach County where she worked for the last 11 years, as HR/Payroll Director managing all HR strategic and functional initiatives including Recruitment and Hiring, Training and Development, Compensation and Benefits, Employee Relations, Labor Law Compliance and Risk Management and Safety. Dr. Lawrence loves to travel to her homeland every year; enjoys cruises and hanging out with her friends and family. She is an avid and prolific reader and a music enthusiast having an appreciation for all music genres.

Brenda Barrivaldi

Brenda Barrivaldi, SHRM-CP, PHR, is a certified, bilingual, and dynamic HR practitioner with over 5 years of experience in all areas of Human Resources. She thrives and prides herself in establishing high standards in delivery and customer satisfaction. Ms. Barrivaldi attended Minnesota State University, Mankato, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Management with emphasis in Human Resources, graduating Summa Cum Laude. She was a Junior Marshall at the class of 2013 graduating ceremony. She later attended Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota graduating with a Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management.
When she is not practicing HR matters, Brenda can be found exploring the world with her 5-year-old daughter and 4-year-old son.

David Callender

Born in Bridgetown, Barbados, David gained his secondary education at the Combermere School. He furthered his academic studies at York University in Toronto, Canada where he gained his B.A. in Economics. He lived most of his adult life in Jamaica working firstly at the advertising agency Dunlop Corbin and later at Colgate Palmolive and J Wray & Nephew thus honing his skills in marketing, advertising and public relations. He later opened his own boutique marketing agency called Marketing Plus Limited. He migrated to the U.S.A in 2006 and currently resides in Miami, Florida.

Lynne W. Gassant

Lynne W. Gassant, an HR professional with 12 plus years of experience is the owner and managing Director of Virtual HR & Company, LLC. Lynne is seasoned in handling HR operations including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, safety training, wellness, benefits, payroll, 401(k) administration, worker’s compensation, and employee training. She holds a master’s degree in human resources management from Florida International University and a bachelor’s degree in public management from Florida Atlantic University. Lynne is an active member of The Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) and Human Resource Association of Palm Beach County (HRPBC).

Janice Hosang

Mrs. Janice Marshall HoSang graduated from The University of the West Indies, Kingston Jamaica, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Language and Literature with a minor in Social Sciences. She recently earned an Associate of Arts Degree in Paralegal Studies at Keiser University.
She is employed to the St Lucie Public School as a part-time substitute teacher covering K-12 and at Pace Center for Girls as a substitute teacher, which is an education program for at-risk teenage girls grades 6-12. Mrs. HoSang is also a member of the Guardian ad Litem program, which represents the best interest of abused, abandoned and neglected children who are involved in the court system. In her spare time, Mrs. HoSang enjoys reading, Sudoku, puzzles and board games.

Sherry Gopaul

Sherry Gopaul, ACCA, FCCA, is a U.K. Certified Chartered Accountant, with over twenty years practical experience in both the private and public sector. She currently works as a Senior Staff Accountant with the YMCA of South Palm Beach County, Inc.
Sherry, a former educator for over fifteen years, taught accounting at both the university and secondary school level in the Caribbean, where she shared her passion for accounting, nurturing and motivating her students, helping them to achieve their educational dreams, goals and professional ambitions.
